"The Beach"
I was learning how to use multiple levels to create merging of objects, in this case trying to get the beach to fall into the sea and also to get the rocks to look as if they were sitting in the sand.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Bryce Text"
There is one thing that for some strange reason is missing from Bryce and thats the option to generate textual data within the scene so I used a cool little proggy that generates text objects that you can import into Bryce then alter them the way you want.
Designed with : Bryce 5, Elefont
"Kawasaki Wheel"
Once I learned how to use Boolean objects (objects that act and merge together depending on their positive/negative attributes within a group) I decided to have a go at making my own version of a Kawasaki motorbike wheel, this took a lot of working out and there are a lot of negative objects that you can't see which shape and finish the wheel.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"The Lake"
This is one of my fine achievements, again using Boolean objects I was able to cut out the water area using a negative-booleen upside-down mountain range then placing the water over the top, the density is automatically done by Bryce to give depth etc.
I especially like this pic for the misting effect around the mountain in the distance.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Visitors"
This is an excellent picture to show the power of both Metaball and lighting effects, Metaballing is used to make complex bodies of objects, this was used to make the UFO's.
I feel the lighting effects finish this scene off really well.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Alien Planet"
This was my first UFO type pic attempt but this one has a very cool effect that as standard Bryce doesn't actually offer, more that one Sun!
So, I used an additional light source and generated it as a long distance light source, or another sun.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Sunset"
This was an attempt of doing Silhouettes of rocks during a sunset.
I liked this one for the water effects.
"Well, oasis!"
This one wasn't really anything special, I was really testing it for the tree and plant rendering, and for info sake tree rendering takes bloody ages so try to avoid unless you got a lot of processing power and time!
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Fighters"
Again nothing special, just seeing what I could manage within Bryce, I suppose a good example of how to use lots of objects grouped to form a fighter or two.
Designed with : 3D Canvas, Bryce 5
"Kaboom"
Here's an attempt of making a shockwave as seen in many films when big things are blown up ie. in StarTrek - Undiscovered Country where a planet is blown up.
Using Bryce for the scene modelling, 3DCanvas for the design of the shockwave (torus is no good for this!) and PhotoShop to generate the flare of the new star, combinations of software can achieve some cool effects. :o)
Designed with : 3D Canvas, Bryce 5, Photoshop 7
NOTE : It took me a long time to get the shockwave textures and settings just right, thought I'd warn you LOL.
"Beach Babe"
This is my first attempt at mixing and using objects created in Poser 4 into Bryce to see what I could manage, I'd say its pretty good for first attempt, took a couple of attempts to remember to export the hair as well as the body parts! LOL
Designed with : Bryce 5, Poser 4
"Dolphins"
This was created for a girlies desktop as I knew she was well into Dolphins etc. I think this is a good example of fog, transparency and duplicate modelling techniques.
Designed with : Bryce 5, Poser 4
"Look into the light"
Well this is a good example of using shadows and volume enhanced scenes, the guy is from Poser 5 and should have been a woman but I found out that Bryce can not import the dynamic hair from Poser 5 so a bald man is better than a bald woman.
Designed with : Bryce 5, Poser 5
"Dolphins go fishing"
Thought I'd have a go at making an underwater scene and found it is pretty tricky to get the light right to make it look watery.
Designed with : Bryce 5, Poser 5
"LEGO Racer"
Someone gave me this lego racer as a christmas present so I decided to build it then physically model it in Byrce 5.
I made the Bryce 5 picture before I used the webcam to scan in the original that you can see in the top-left corner, and to be honest I think I've done a pretty good job considering I made each piece of the car in bryce!
Designed with : Bryce 5, Photoshop 7.01(webcam insert)
"Dino"
Well I was bored and decided to play around with the dinosaur that was in Poser 5 and see what I could come up with.
Nothing really specific with this picture, just a change from the norm.
Designed with : Bryce 5, Poser 5
"UFO - A Watery Grave"
Again just fooling around with Bryce, looking for new idea's mainly, so nothing to comment about in this picture really.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Laser Crystal Dolphin"
Decided to try to make one of those cool crystal laser etched gifts that you can get, not bad for my first attempt I guess.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"The Glass"
My friend set me a task, he said "Do a glass, fill it with liquid but with colour and stick a straw in it", so I did!
The Glass was made in TrueSpace 6.5 then exported to Bryce 5.1 and then I used boolean and intersects to make the straw, liquid and glass "cutout".
Rendering took about 45 minutes due to me using volumetrics etc. but its an excellent example of the above properties as well as showing off transparencies, shadows and reflections.
Designed with : TrueSpace 6.5, Bryce 5.1
"Snooker Balls"
I decided to experiment with realistic finishes etc. and I thought I'd do a scene of a partially lighted snooker table containing some of the balls.
This demonstrates a number of effects including, blurred shadowing, depth of field, reflection and object properties.
It did take a little playing around to get the reflection of the balls just right, but think I've done a good job with the finished result.
Please tell me what you think of this one, as I'm trying new techniques as I learn them and would like to hear from you.

"Crom's Battle Station"
This picture has been sent in by a visitor called Carl "Crom" Yeomans.
Carl says, "I made this after one weeks training and considering I've never used a 3D modelling program before, I thought it was a very bold and brave effort."
Well Carl, I am well bloody impressed with your water effects in this first real attempt of 3D modelling, and the buoy is a great touch to the scene, well done!
Designed with : Bryce 6
"Toni's Overlook"
This picture has been sent in by a visitor called Shipp.
Shipp says, "I made this picture using bryce 5 only.
I made it for a dear friend of mine and named it after her.
I wanted to thank you for putting my pictures on your website, you have a lot of great pictures on there, and i'm glad to be a part of it.
I'm hoping that this picture will also be to your liking...
This picture took me quite a few hours, but i must say i'm very pleased with how it turned out.
The telescope was definately the hardest part of this picture.
I hope you like it."
Personally, pardon my french, but this is friggin' excellent and I can see why it took so long to make.
You have used all the features of Bryce in an excellent way which has finished this picture off nicely, especially the telescope (maybe I'm bias as I'm very into astronomy).

"Alien Artifact"
This picture has been sent in by a visitor called Shipp. A good use of fog and coloured light went into this image.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Alien Artifact 2"
This picture has been sent in by a visitor called Shipp. Similar pic to above.
Designed with : Bryce 3D
"Roman Well"
This picture has been sent in by a visitor called Shipp. I like a lot of things in this picture, good landscape, good texturing for the ground surrounding the well, and the modelling and design of the well and supports, nice one.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Desert Mountains"
This picture has been sent in by a visitor called Jerry. A good simple example of using the landscape feature.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Green Sea Foot"
This picture has been sent in by a visitor called Jerry. An unusual attempt and I'd say very unique work.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Rising Peral"
This picture has been sent in by a visitor called Jerry. I really like this idea of sphere's sort of rotating into the water, good use of multiple objects.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Disks"
This picture has been sent in by a visitor called Kryton. He says it took 2 mins to make, hey we start with the simplest usually.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Icy Night"
This picture has been sent in by a visitor called Kryton. I actually really like this, not bad for 10 mins work at all, nice job.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Gate"
This picture has been sent in by a visitor called Jason Brown and is an unusual idea. Jason called this "gate" but it reminds me of those things used by children to make blowy bubbles.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Holding Pattern"
This picture has been sent in by a visitor called Jason Brown and shows off a nice example of what you can do with placed lighting, again he's got an unusual touch but cool.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Ocean Orb"
This picture has been sent in by a visitor called Jason Brown and I like the water in this, and the use of glass materials has been put to good use.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Surfacing"
This picture has been sent in by a visitor called Jason Brown and he had a go at making a sub I believe, weird I was doing that not so long back LOL, I'll have to get mine finished, nice attempt and I like the water effect, added bonus.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Tower"
This picture has been sent in by a visitor called Jason Brown and I am well impressed by one thing in this pic, the staircase. That was a nice touch and gave the pic something to really look at, will have to try to do that sometime. Nice job.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Tunnels"
This picture has been sent in by a visitor called Tom Ruley and is a really good example of multiple object modelling, nice work dude!
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Beauty and the beach"
This picture has been sent in by Andy and was created using a mixture of Bryce for the scene and Poser for the woman and dolphins, I like this for the tranquil feel it gives, anyone got her number? :)
Designed with : Bryce 5, Poser 4
NOTE : This guy has only been playing with bryce etc. for about two weeks! Good work.
"To infinity and beyond"
Another picture by Andy and is an unusual concept and gets your mind working a little, strange yet creative imagination you have there Andy!
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Dog Fight"
Again Andy has been busy with another picture and even though he had to fight against powercuts by ice storms he managed to get this dog fight scene made, thats determination for yah!
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Andy's Island"
Andy made this nice little desert island scene and I think the palm tree makes a nice finishing touch to this pic, maybe put a ship in the background Andy?
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Mountains of the river"
I think Andy is the same as me and finds water effects a must in a 3D pic for some strange reason, but he's done good with the mountains and mixing with a really cool water type has produces a wicked finish.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Night Mountain"
This was sent in a by a person called Ken and he has stated thats he's a beginner as well, so don't anybody knock him for this attempt as the next one is another of his work.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Alien Flyby"
This is the other picture sent in by Ken, I really like the water angle to this, looks totally amazing and he used the objects in a strange way but at least he tried to use texturing and bumping, good job.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"First Attempt"
There is a girly called Sue on the scene of Bryce near me who sent in this picture as her first example, not bad for only playing with bryce for less than a day!
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Second Attempt"
Well Sue made this a couple of hours after the first one so she's definitely enjoying Bryce!
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Alone"
A very unusual concept by Sue but still pretty dang interesting to say the least.
Designed with : Bryce 5
"Grey Skys"
Hmmm, can people notice the obsession for trees? Hehe, good work again
Sue.
